The report states the owner and producers of bootleg plastic models "Daban Model" are facing criminal charges for infringing on Bandai Spirits' intellectual property. Liability will be charged not only the the manufacturer, but also distributors who attempt to sell their products.
As of January 29, 2019, six Chinese distributors have been investigated, and several assets have been seized from their manufacturing plants.
Bandai Spirits has expressed their intent to press charges against infringement of not only Gunpla, but other products of the Bandai Namco Group.
